Innovative Restaurant and Bar Interior Design: Lytham House, Lytham

Lytham House represents the transformation of the former Portofino restaurant into a vibrant hospitality destination that brings people together through exceptional food, entertainment, and memorable shared experiences. Developed in collaboration with Ross Robinson, following the success of projects including The Eagle at Weeton and The Ship at Freckleton, the venue has quickly established itself as a landmark within the heart of Lytham.

Our design approach focused on creating a seamless flow between day and evening, supporting the evolving needs of guests throughout their visit. From morning coffee, brunch, and relaxed lunches to evening dining, cocktails, and live entertainment, the space adapts effortlessly to different occasions while maintaining a strong and distinctive identity.

Rooted in a sense of place, the interior draws inspiration from the natural world, creating a contemporary botanical setting that complements Lytham's welcoming coastal character. At the centre of the venue stands a dramatic 30-foot steel tree that connects both floors, becoming a powerful focal point and social anchor. Its sculptural trunk emerges from a marble gathering table at ground level, while an illuminated floral canopy creates an immersive atmosphere above, encouraging guests to connect, linger, and enjoy the experience together.

The design carefully balances drama with functionality. Private dining and event spaces have been integrated to support both social and business use, providing flexible environments for celebrations, meetings, and special occasions. Modern amenities, intuitive layouts, and seamless connectivity ensure the spaces perform as effectively as they inspire.

By opening up the former restaurant layout, we created a more fluid and welcoming environment that naturally encourages movement, interaction, and social engagement. Recognising how hospitality experiences extend beyond the venue itself, elements such as the feature flower wall and photobooth provide moments of delight that guests can share and remember long after their visit.

Lytham House demonstrates how thoughtful hospitality design can successfully unite people, place, and commercial ambition. Through a carefully considered customer journey, memorable focal points, and flexible operational planning, the venue delivers an engaging experience that supports both guest satisfaction and long-term business success.
