The reopening of The Dog Inn in Whalley marked more than the completion of a refurbishment. It represented a thoughtful investment in both people and place, creating an environment where customers, colleagues and the wider community can continue to connect, relax and enjoy everything that makes this much-loved pub special.

Officially unveiled on 17 July, the transformation has been warmly welcomed by regulars and new visitors alike.

 

The project was shaped around a simple principle: retain the character and heritage that people value while creating a more welcoming, functional and future-ready space for the business.

 

Working in close partnership with owners Lee and Jo McLoughlin, every aspect of the refurbishment was designed to improve the overall customer experience while supporting the long-term success of the venue. The investment has enhanced the flow of the pub, creating spaces that better serve different customer needs, whether dining, socialising or enjoying live sport and entertainment.

 

Improvements include a brand-new kitchen, upgraded audio-visual technology, an expanded and redesigned beer garden, refurbished facilities, more flexible seating arrangements, a more intimate dining space and increased capacity. At the same time, much-loved features that are part of The Dog Inn's identity, including the jukebox and pool table, have been retained, ensuring familiar experiences remain at the heart of the pub.

 

Crucially, the refurbishment has strengthened the pub's role within the local community, balancing investment in the physical environment with a continued commitment to the people it serves. Regular customers will also be pleased to know that the popular homemade menu remains unchanged, preserving the quality and consistency that have helped make The Dog Inn a Whalley favourite for generations.
